Starry cast of artists will appear in the performance The Grey Legend of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.

On 2 April principal parts of the national opera The Grey Legend will play stars of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, Honoured artists Oksana Volkova and Anastasia Moskvina, People’s artists Vladimir Petrov and Sergey Frankovsky.

Opera The Grey Legend was created more than 30 years ago. In September 2012 with the premiere of its new version the 80th season at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus was opened. Premiere of The Grey Legend was characterized by its directors, critics and spectators as a famous performance of tremendous national value, piece that was created in keeping with best traditions of opera genre. This performance was called the opera about love for belarusian land and its people with original composition, poetry of its language and emotionality of the sounding. Time has showed that The Grey Legend has become one of the most marvelous legends of the native theatre and masterpiece of the national music. It was not for nothing that classics of the belarusian art, composers Dmitry Smolsky and author of the libretto Vladimir Korotkevich put their hard work and talent into its creation.

This performance put together grandeur of design and immensity of its incarnation. A patriotic sounding of the literary origin, profundity of thoughts and ideas contained in text found their reflection in music of the opera. Faceted with profound and fine vision of the director, with beauty and precision of the scenography, The Grey Legend, narrating of a great overpowering love that can overcome split, enmity and the deadliest war, became great adornment of the national repertoire of the theatre.

A bright and inspired incarnation will be presented to the classic of the belarusian opera art by the principal soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. The part of Irina will play Honoured artist of the Republic of Belarus, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Anastasia Moskvina. The part of Lyubka will play Honoured artist of the Republic of Belarus, soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, guest soloist of the National Opera of Latvia, singer who took by storm the famous Metropolitan Opera New-York, Oksana Volkova. Principal men’s parts will play titled singers of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, People’s artists Vladimir Petrov (Kizgaylo) and Sergey Frankovsky (Roman).
